Connor Manufacturing (Suzhou) Co. Ltd. adds High Speed Press capability
Suzhou, China (May 13, 2011)- Connor Manufacturing (Suzhou) Co. Ltd. has added a high speed metal stamping capabilities to serve the growing needs of its customers.
In response to changing market conditions, Connor has positioned themselves to further improve their abilities to meet customer demands for rapid response, ease of doing business, and access to its strategic locations.
"The new 60-ton, high speed press allows for greater capacity and increased competitiveness in the manufacturing of high volume shielding applications," says general manager Roy O'Brien.
In an environment where lead times can change quickly and 100% accuracy is imperative this high speed press can meet both conditions. The cast frame supplies stability for not only accurate alignment but also accommodates the 1500 strokes per minute (SPM) necessary for continuous production runs. Ideal for thin, metal parts that require high tolerance accuracy, repeatability, and the best cost with a variety of metals including brass, stainless, aluminum, coppers, bronze, and cold or hot rolled steels.
Markets that will benefit but not limited to are: automotive, electronics, aerospace and medical device industries.

Connor Manufacturing Services, Inc. adds LASER capability
Portland, OREGON (May 5, 2011) - Connor Manufacturing Services, Inc. has added a new LASER cutting system- its rapid precision and efficiency adds quality to the process and end manufactured good.
In response to changing market conditions, Connor has positioned themselves to further improve their abilities to meet customer demands for rapid response to needs, ease of doing business, and access to its strategic locations.
The acquisition of this CO2 LASER will further increase Connor's in-house capabilities; creating more flexibility, efficiency, and value for its customers. Complimented with in-house forming and welding facilities, Connor now has the ability to competitively manufacture most sheet and plate based parts," says Eric Watson, Process Engineer.
The CO2 LASER standouts from others with its versatility, quality, and precision cutting with various materials and thickness. The LASER can work with up to 12.7mm (0.500") of mild steel, 4mm (.160") of stainless steel, 4mm (.160") of aluminum, and can also cut materials like ABS, Acrylic, PETG and Wood. In addition, the bed size can accommodate up to 48" by 96" of material offering nesting capabilities for higher yields on prototype and production runs.
LASER cutting systems can reduce manufacturing cost by eliminating traditional manufacturing sequences. The LASER processing can be programmed for virtually any design requiring little to no time for samples. In addition, repeatability capabilities allow for higher accuracy and quality parts resulting in a decrease in outside processing (cleaning, deburring). Furthermore, the nearly limitless design and production capability of the LASER affords the customer zero expenditures on tooling, reducing the risk on prototyped parts and allowing for inexpensive revisions.
While not limited to these markets that will benefit from the addition of the LASER include: heavy trucking, semiconductor, interconnect, telecommunications, medical devices, aerospace, and renewable energy industries.
Do you have a unique flat pattern profile? Are you using the best process currently by punching, water-jet cutting, or plasma cutting your parts? Our CO2 LASER supports high mix-low volume projects. When low-cost and speed to market is important, consider Connor's new product introduction (NPI) resources for your precision cutting needs.
